Independent Reading Zone - August 2023
For the first 15 minutes of class, students will be required to participate in the Independent Reading Zone and respond to what they've read in writing. Also, they will get a participation grade for the Independent Reading Zone.
Achieve 3000 Level Set - August 2023
Achieve 3000 Level Set - Thursday, August 10th and will finish up on Friday, August 11th
Chromebooks - 2023
Chromebooks will stay inside each teacher's classroom; students will be the same numbered Chromebook each day and will be responsible for any damage that they incur.
Independent Reading at Home Each Afternoon or Night - August 2023
At home, students should be reading for at least 15 minutes each afternoon or evening.
Damaging Chromebooks - January 2024
Students should not eat or drink around their Chromebooks, nor should they eat the cheesy chips before using them and then lick their fingers because their sticky fingers are damaging the keyboards on the Chromebooks. Please encourage your child to adhere to these Chromebook guidelines. If students continue to disregard these guidelines, consequences will be given accordingly.
Argument Writing - January 2024
Students will learn how to support their claims with reasons, and they will learn how to support their reasons with relevant evidence from the text. Their formal essays should consist of an Introduction, Body Paragraphs, Counterclaim Paragraph, and a Conclusion.
