7th Grade - Analyzing the Interaction of Story Elements

Learning Target: Analyze the ways in which a story's setting, characters, and plot affect one another, a story's setting affects the way characters think and behave, and the ways in which a story's setting affects the plot.
Success Criteria: I can explain how story elements such as setting, characters, and plot affect one another.

Activity: Using a Gradual Release model students will complete Lesson 6 of their Iready Workbooks.
6th Grade - Describing Plot

Learning Target: SWBAT - Identify and analyze the elements of a story's or drama's plot structure, including the beginning (exposition), rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution.
Success Criteria: I can
determine the exposition, rising action, falling action, and resolution in a text.
Activity: Using a Gradual Release model students will complete Lesson 6 of their Iready Workbooks.
8th Grade - Citing Evidence to Support Inferences

Learning Target: SWBAT Use textual evidence, along with background knowledge, to make reasonable inferences about a literary text and evaluate text evidence to determine the pieces that most strongly support an inference drawn from the text.
Success Criteria: I can make inferences in literacy text and identify the pieces of text that helped me come to my conclusions.
Activity: Using a Gradual Release model students will complete Lesson 6 of their Iready Workbooks.
Activity: Students will work with the teacher to complete the assigned lesson that correlates with the book lesson on Iready and take the quiz. Success will be apparent when students have passed the Iready quiz.
