7th Grade - Citing Evidence to Support Inferences

Use textual evidence, along with background knowledge, to make reasonable inferences about characters, setting, and plot of a literary text. Cite two or more pieces of textual evidence to support inferences drawn from the text.
Success Criteria: I can ...
Use my background knowledge ans what I read in the text to make inferences about characters, setting, and plot. I can explain how I came to my conclusions.
Activity: Using a Gradual Release model students will complete Lesson 5 of their Iready Workbooks.


6th Grade - Citing Evidence to Make Inferences
Standard: ELAGSE7RL1
Learning Target: SWBAT
Use explicitly stated details in a literary text about a character along with background knowledge to make inferences about that character, such as his/her feelings. attitude, personality, relationships, and inner conflicts.
Success Criteria: I can use my background knowledge and what I read in the text to make inferences about characters. I can explain how I came to my conclusions.
Activity: Using a Gradual Release model students will complete Lesson 5 of their Iready Workbooks.

8th Grade - Analyzing Categories
Standard: ELAGSE8RI3
Learning Target:TSWBAT
Analyze how ideas, individuals, and events in informational text are connected and interrelated. Identify similarities and distinctions between ideas, individuals, and events and the devices used by author's to make those distinctions, including comparisons and categories.
Success Criteria: I can explain how ideas, individuals, and events in a text are connected and identify their similarities and differences. I can recognize the devices used by the author including categories and comparisons.
Activity:Using a Gradual Release model students will complete Lesson 5 of their Iready Workbooks.


Activity: Students will work with the teacher to complete the assigned lesson that correlates with the book lesson on Iready and take the quiz. Success will be apparent when students have passed the Iready quiz.
