Glynn County Students Show Strong Growth on Georgia Milestones Assessment
Student achievement across Glynn County Schools continues on an upward trajectory. Results from the latest Georgia Milestones Assessment System show that local students are holding steady, improving, and outperforming state averages across multiple subject areas and grade levels.
What is the Georgia Milestones Assessment?
The Georgia Milestones Assessment System measures how well students have mastered state-adopted learning standards.
Grades 3–8 (End-of-Grade/EOG): Students take tests in core subjects such as English Language Arts and Mathematics annually, with Science and Social Studies assessed at key grade milestones.
High School (End-of-Course/EOC): Students take assessments upon completing specific high school courses.
*A Note on English Language Arts (ELA) Scores: The 2025–2026 school year marked the state’s first administration of assessments aligned with Georgia’s new ELA learning standards. Because the Georgia Department of Education has not yet released ELA results statewide, these scores are not included in this initial overview.
Understanding Achievement Levels
Student performance is categorized into four achievement levels:
Beginning Learners
Developing Learners (demonstrating partial mastery; on track toward full proficiency)
Proficient Learners (demonstrating full mastery of grade-level standards)
Distinguished Learners
For this snapshot, performance is highlighted based on students achieving at or above the Proficient Learner level.
