Governor Kemp Proclamation: School Based Speech-Language Pathologist Week

In recognition of the vital role speech-language pathologists play in education, Governor Brian Kemp has officially proclaimed March 16th-March 22nd as School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist Week in the state of Georgia.
At Jane Macon Middle School, we are proud to celebrate our school based SLP, Mrs. Amanda Goodman. Mrs. Goodman has dedicated 28 years as an SLP, 8 years in private practice working with children ages 1-5 and 20 years in the school system working with students between the ages of 3 and 18 years old. The last 13 years have been primarily in middle school. “My passion is for improving overall communication skills by tapping into reading, writing, and oral language skills. Love the connections I am able to make with MS students as they seek confidence and improvement for overall communication. Love watching students thrive as they build social relationships and learn more about interacting with others. Love doing hands-on teaching for real-life language experiences so that students can transfer their skills into life outside of school. Love helping students understand how their behavior is communication and teaching them healthy coping skills. Love watching my students grow throughout middle school and develop the ability to advocate for themselves. Good communication skills will open doors throughout life!”
JMMS thanks you for your work and dedication day in and day out!
